During adolescence, the brain releases the sleep hormone melatonin later at night. This makes falling asleep earlier more difficult.
But school still starts early — which is why:
✔ Consistent bedtimes
✔ Screen-free evenings
✔ Regular wake-up times
are so important to support attendance and wellbeing.
