FOOTY RESULTS 2025

Ah we didn’t win this year but wow, we had a good crack at it!

This week saw the 4th annual CIT SEND Football Tournament take place across two days at the Grantham Meres Leisure Centre 3G pitches.

We played teams from Bowman Academy, Foxfields Academy, GANF, Boston Endeavour Academy and Woodlands Academy for the Key Stage 3 competition on Tuesday and the Key Stage 4 tournament on Wednesday.

Our pupils did themselves proud with some excellent football, teamwork and sportsmanship. Whether players were taking part in their first ever football matches, challenging themselves against older opponents or looking to take home the coveted trophy, it was great to see the respect and support everyone provided for each other.

Woodlands Academy won the KS4 competition and Foxfields Academy were victorious in the KS3 format as both days went down to the final game. You can recap what happened on each day via our blog here: https://citacademies.co.uk/live-blog-cit-football-tournament/

Ollie Maltby, Assistant Headteacher at GANF, organised the event:

“Organising the CIT Football Tournament for our KS3 and KS4 pupils is an incredibly fulfilling experience. The energy, commitment, and sportsmanship shown by every team were truly inspiring. It wasn’t just about the goals scored or matches won – it was about students pushing themselves, supporting one another, and representing their schools with pride.

What stood out most was the sense of unity and respect across all participants. Whether it was a hard-fought game or a friendly handshake at the end of a match, the spirit of the tournament was always positive and inclusive.

A huge thank you to all the staff, especially Jack Gurney who led the KS4 tournament and those who helped make both days run smoothly. Events like this remind us of the power of sport to bring people together and create lasting memories.”
