Macmillan Coffee Morning Success

Greenfields Academy was filled with warmth, laughter, and the smell of freshly baked treats as the school proudly hosted a hugely successful Macmillan Coffee Morning this week.

Families were welcomed into the school to join pupils and staff for a morning of community spirit and delicious refreshments. Tables were packed with a tempting selection of cakes, biscuits, and sweet treats – all generously donated by members of the school community. With cups of tea, coffee, and soft drinks flowing, the event provided a perfect opportunity for families and staff to come together in support of a worthy cause.

A popular feature of the morning was the Cook Book Corner, where visitors browsed a delightful collection of donated cookbooks. Guests could take home a book of their choice in exchange for a small donation, with many enjoying the chance to discover new recipes while supporting Macmillan’s vital work.

The highlight of the event, however, was the lively game of Community Bingo that brought the entire room together. With excitement building and fantastic prizes up for grabs, pupils and parents alike joined in the fun, filling the hall with a wonderful sense of togetherness.

Thanks to the enthusiasm of families and the hard work of staff, the event raised an impressive amount for Macmillan Cancer Support, helping the charity continue its important work supporting those affected by cancer. Thanks also to Newton Bridge Academy who’s pupils baked for, and attended the event.

A special thank you goes to Mrs Evans, whose organisation and dedication made the morning such a memorable success.

Greenfields Academy would like to thank everyone who attended, donated, baked, and supported the event. It was a heart-warming celebration of community spirit, and a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when people come together. We raised £134.49!
