Primary pupils write their own poem
Greenfields Year 5 pupils have been learning about poetry in their literacy lessons this week. They have been engaging in comprehension and writing styles, as well as vocabulary building. The pupils have been looking at urban poetry, focusing on their local environment, learning how they can use language to create and show emotions.
Two pupils, Callum and Lucas, worked together to write this wonderful piece:
Unforbidden Secrets
Yesterday I saw the school breathing,
Sensible students playing together,
Great gusts of students rushing in and rushing out,
Tables lined up with bouncy chairs,
Pencils ran across the room to dance across the paper,
At the end of the day, the walls whispered of forbidden secrets.
